    Description

    The Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is looking for a caring Mental Health Worker to join their team. The chosen candidate will provide direct care services to clients, assist with rehabilitative programs, handle client-related tasks, attend meetings, and support the well-being of clients. The incumbent will also act as a role model for other Mental Health Workers.



    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Follow unit instructions and guidelines.
    • Engage therapeutically with patients.
    • Report clinical observations to the Charge Nurse.
    • Complete required paperwork accurately.
    • Participate actively in team meetings.
    • Collaborate with the team for patient treatment plans.
    • Document observations in the medical record.
    • Ensure safety protocols are followed.
    • Engage in clinical supervision and performance assessment.
    • Provide constructive communication to patients and staff.
    • Contribute to patient treatment program assessments.
    • Train and orient new staff.
    • Supervise team counselors.
    • Participate in supervision and teaching sessions.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Effective communication in English.
    • Interact well with patients, professionals, and visitors.
    • Organizational skills and ability to follow schedules.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with individuals facing mental health challenges.
    • Bilingual or multilingual fluency.

    Schedule: Full-time position with night shifts and mandatory overtime requirements.

    MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Applicants must have experience in direct care services, including supervisory roles, or relevant educational background. Bachelor's degrees in related fields may substitute for experience in some cases.
