    We're currently seeking Heavy Equipment Excavator Operators to join our Civil Highway Construction Team. This job will travel regularly throughout Western Montana and wages will increase on Davis-Bacon jobs.

    What We're Looking For

    • Proficiency in operating excavators.

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).

    • Experience with rock crushers and screening equipment is a bonus.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Heavy Equipment Excavator Operator, you will:

    • Operate excavators safely and efficiently.

    • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any issues.

    • Load materials into plants based on production needs.

    • Gain expertise in aggregate sizes, classifications, and weight requirements.

    • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    • Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures.

    • Take initiative, working independently with minimal supervision.

    • Strong safety mindset and adherence to safety regulations.

    • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

    • Capable of managing pressure, emergencies, and tight deadlines.

    • Reliable and ethical with a focus on building positive relationships.

    • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including various shifts, overtime, and out-of-town assignments.

    Physical Requirements

    This role involves:

    • Lift and carry 25-50 lbs. regularly.

    • Perform repetitive movements like bending, kneeling, squatting, and twisting.

    • Sit or stand for long periods and navigate uneven terrain.

    • Work outdoors in all types of weather and noisy environments.

    • Frequent sitting

    • Occasional push/pull

    • Rarely bending/stooping

    • Rarely climbing

    • Occasional reaching

    • Continuous grasping equipment controls

    • Occasional fine manipulation

    • Frequent use of Foot controls

    Pre-Employment Requirements

    • Passing a pre-employment drug test.

    • Successfully completing a pre-employment physical.
