Description
**Job Summary:**
The Transportation Clerk is primarily responsible for coordinating shipments and securing carriers for outbound product transportation. In addition, they will assist in coordinating with transportation companies and routing drivers accordingly.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**
Assist in coordination of product transportation
Build and maintain vendor relationships
Communicate with trucking companies, warehouse associates, brokers, sales team members and customers
Maintain communication with carriers, shipping offices, customer service representatives and other persons involved in the shipping process
Input shipping and loading data into Canopy system, accurately reflecting daily shipping reports
Update Transportation Department spreadsheets
Submit and verify load confirmation sheets
Plan LTL shipments
Receive and enter OS&D complaints
All other relevant duties as assigned
**Job Requirements:**
High School Diploma or GED required
1+ years administrative experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of planning, shipping, warehouse management and inventory
Ability to manage daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries
Knowledge of tracking shipment progress
Excellent customer service skills
Advanced computer and analytical skills
Organized and detail oriented
**Physical/Environmental Factors:**
*Office setting within a plant environment:*
Cold, damp, wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees
Exposed to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
Ability to bend, stoop, and lift various weights as needed
Strong, raw meat odors
