    Were Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, one of the largest regional amusement-resort operators in the world with 11 amusement parks in North America.

    Kings Island is seeking a Director of Human Resources at the park near Cincinnati, OH. The Director, reporting to the park General Manager, provides strategic leadership in all human resources functions of the Park, including recruitment and employment, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee services, HRIS, and overall human resources strategic planning. Supervises subordinate managerial and support staff. Performs related administrative, supervisory and professional work as required.

    Responsibilities:
    • Provides human resources expertise to management to assist with the decision making process regarding employee issues and concerns.
    • Advises management and staff on employee relations issues. Researches all options; involves appropriate corporate resources as necessary.
    • Ensures that all actions are rational, appropriate and protect the interests and resources of the company.
    • Ensures adequate Park staffing levels.
    • Develops and manages the division's annual budget.
    • Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers advise and assistance as needed.
    • Supervises duties of subordinate managerial and support staff. Supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards;coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; acting on employee problems; and recommending and approving employee promotions, transfers, discipline, discharge and salary increases.
    • Plans, directs and supervises all human resources functions and programs, ensuring park compliance with all applicable personnel policies and procedures and all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to employment.
    • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • Four-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
    • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or SPHR certification preferred.
    • Masters Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
    • Experience leading an HR team and providing strategic thought leadership to operating teams.
    • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications.
    • Demonstrated familiarity with federal, state, and local labor laws, including EEO, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA and minor labor laws.
    • Proven ability to influence change at all levels, using data to support recommendations.
    • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management
    • Ability to negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements.
    • Advanced written and oral communication skills, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
    • Strong time and project management skills and experience.
    • Excellent leadership, facilitation, communication, supervisory and management coaching skills.
    • Change management experience a must.
    • A high level of organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze recruitment data and present relevant information to key stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead throughout an organization.
    • Ability to interpret business and operational needs and develop integrated, creative solutions.
