SUMMARY

The Prep Cook assists in the preparation food offerings in the kitchen and prepares food to order.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES

Roles models Prairie Flower Casino's Mission and Values at all times.
Follows the prep list created but F&B Manager.
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves to be organized and easily accessible.
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Prepares simple dishes such as salads, sandwiches, and nachos.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
Receives inventory, moves, and lifts food and beverage products and supplies.
Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing. rotating and checking temperature of products.
Assists with front counter as needed while providing excellent guest service.
Must be able to pass and maintain appropriate Food Handling Certificate.
Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
Outstanding example of and a credit to Prairie Flower Casino.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Must demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Food and Beverage prep cook and/or line cook experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Requires the ability to lift/push objects weighing over 40 lbs.
Regularly required to stand and walk for the entire shift. Uses hands grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, and crouch.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor.
Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
May be exposed to a smoking environment.
