    The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist 3.


    The successful candidate will:

    • Evaluate and treat patients referred for skilled physical therapy service according to the department standards of care.
    • Establish treatment goals and create plans of care to attain the established goals.
    • Evaluate and submit requests for assistive devices, orthotic and prosthetic needs.
    • Submit all necessary paperwork, as well as electronic medical records and daily billing according to the department policy and procedure.
    • Educate patients and families about appropriate precautions, home exercise program, safety, fall prevention, use of appropriate assistive device, etc.
    • Participate in departmental in-services.
    • Demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic environment, be a team player, and a role model for other staff members.
    • Provide supervision and guidance for Rehab/Therapy Aides.
    • Assist with quality assurance and inventory control efforts.
    • Model the organization's We Care values in interactions.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an institution accredited by New York State.
    • New York State Physical Therapist licensure.
    • New graduates are welcome to apply.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master of Science Degree/Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.

    Work Schedule:
    Tuesday to Saturday; 10:00am to 6:00pm


    Salary Grade/Rank:
    SL-2


    Salary Range:
    Commensurate with experience and qualifications
