    Job PurposeThe Technical Director, Information Technology provides technical and process leadership to support teams, maintains information technology infrastructure, researches and implements strategic technological solutions.

    The Director, Information Technology builds and maintains a robust infrastructure with scalability, high availability, and security in mind.

    This role is accountable for vendor management, architecture and engineering, including the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of server, network, storage, and software, and WAN/LAN across the enterprise (on-premise, cloud, co-lo).This position functions as a technical services escalation contact for IT Support and is accountable for administration, capacity planning, implementing new technology, maintaining existing systems, and IT security.

    Additionally, participates as a technical resource when needed for major projects. Ensure infrastructure security at all technological tiers and provide guidance and recommendations as needed.

    Leads in implementing security focused solutions and ensuring compliance for end users and systems as it relates security in accordance with HIPAA and HITECH standards.

    Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
    Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
    Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
    Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

    Recommends information technology strategies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements and accounting for compliance needs and security best practices.

    Lead teams to assess, isolate, and remediate system issues and deploy new technology as neededConsistently demonstrate understanding of security standards in daily administration and solutions and as set forth in the Information Security and HIPAA policies.

    Work to ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, etc.) in all aspects of data utilization and information access.

    Stay abreast of new and emerging security threats and mitigation approaches for your respective area and perform periodic security reviews of your assigned areasEnsure all proposed changes follow the Change Management policy and procedure for production changesLimit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties for your respective teamReport any security or HIPAA violations or concerns for your team to the HIPAA Officers in a timely fashionUse, protect and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standardsRequirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree or at least 5 years of progressive IT experienceStrong knowledge of VMware, SAN Storage, Microsoft Operating Systems, Cisco Network Switches, Brocade Fiber Switches, EMC Data DomainFamiliar with encryption strategies and protocols for data at rest and in transitPrior experience working in a highly sensitive environment housing ePHI and bound to HIPAA and HITECH regulationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficient in computer hardware, software and network service, installation and administrationExcellent critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skill.

    Must be self-motivated, flexible, and be able to function well under stressful working condition with minimal supervision.
    Working ConditionsAbility to work a flexible schedule, weekends, and/or on-call as neededOccasional travel to other company locations required
