Senior Financial Services Officer (Lender):

Key Responsibilities:
This position serves as a trusted financial partner, building member relationships and identifying member needs and services that protect their financial position and future.
Originates, underwrites, processes, and evaluates consumer and mortgage loan requests to ensure compliance, accuracy, and sound credit quality, while providing clear and timely communication to members regarding loan decisions
Exercises solid judgment and sound decision-making skills to ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
Coordinates and processes loan closings. Ensures that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented and processed.Looks for cross-sell opportunities at all times, asking the member for additional business. Maximize opportunities to sell Serve Credit Union products and services to benefit members and enhance the quality and depth of member relationships and profitability
Assists current and new members in opening new accounts and establishing membership
Stays informed regarding local and national economic conditions and legal & regulatory changes.
Counsels members in relation to their credit history and offers necessary solutions and suggestions.
Qualifies as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) and complies with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration process.
Assists with the day-to-day management of the credit and debit card portfolio including case escalation, compromised card list, ordering new cards, closing old cards and maintaining up to date system data to ensure accuracy.
Assist members with routine member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, examine checks for endorsements and any other member service transactions, as needed.
Demonstrates technical expertise in the areas of mortgages, home equities, credit cards, collections and consumer lending.Remains calm, composed, tactful and respectful even in demanding situations.
Demonstrates dependability, honesty, promptness and commitment to excellence.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and
Experience:
A minimum of (2) years of consumer lending underwriting experience within a credit union or financial institution
A minimum of (1) year of Mortgage lending underwriting experience within a credit union or financial institution
Experience with Coviance or similar loan origination systems is preferred but not required.
Associate's degree in banking, finance or related field OR equivalent on the job banking/finance experience
Ability to resolve and assist with member complaints as they occur by using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities
Familiarity with industry's rules and regulations
Strong member service, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to achieve sales targets and production goals in a strong member-focused environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
Self-starter with the ability to meet regulatory timeframes
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
