Process EngineerReports to:
Product Engineering Manager
Position Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for evaluating existing and future manufacturing processes relating to repeatability, yield, labor efficiency material cost, safety and security.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process:
Evaluate existing and future manufacturing processes relating to repeatability, yield, labor efficiency, material cost, safety and security.
Identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement by establishing action plans.
Ensure all manufacturing processes are properly defined and documented.
With Production Manager, ensure work instructions are developed for all processes and that all operators are properly trained in accordance with the approved procedures.
Document deviations and ensure they are formally communicated for corrective action.
Research and Development
With the Vice President of Engineering and Compliance and the Product Engineering Manager develop processes and procedures for new products.
Establish and maintain a new product qualification system that is defined and documented.
Manage the implementation of the new product qualification system and measure its effectiveness, identify changes for improvement as appropriate and build action plans.
Quality Assurance
With Quality Manager, identify the raw material attributes that are critical to our manufacturing processes.
Ensure appropriate raw material specifications are defined and documented to ensure consistent quality and adequate process control of our products.
Other Important Responsibilities:
Consistently demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure most critical processes impacting business results are being addressed.
Thorough documentation of existing processes and new process development, inclusive of progressive results, specific equipment parameters and work instructions where appropriate
As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Minimum 5 years of experience; BS or BA required
Ability to relate to employees and understand their needs
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check own work
Excellent time management skills
Task oriented excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load

Physical qualifications and work environment:
Must be able to lift 20 lbs
Must be able to sustain office work for 8+ hours per day including the following:
Sitting in an office chair
Typing
Reaching for the telephone
Standing at office equipment
Hearing for phone use
Sight for computer use
Must be able to sustain factory work as needed including the following:
Standing at machinery
Reaching and pulling to operate machinery
Sight for machinery operation
Walking through shop
Office environment is of moderate noise level.
Shop noise levels are such that protective ear-coverings are recommended.
