OPEX Corporation has a full-time 1st and 2nd shift opportunities for a Manual Machinists to work in our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ. We are looking for dependable, organized, mechanically skilled individuals for this opening.OPEX Corporation has a full-time first shift opportunity for a Manual Machinist to work in our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ. We are looking for dependable, organized, mechanically skilled individuals for this opening. Essential Responsibilities

• Set up and operate miscellaneous manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, tapping heads, arbor press, and surface and OD grinders.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability.
• Must read and understand layouts, job packets and blueprints for parts being run.
• Inspect parts using micrometer, gages, and related inspection instruments.
• Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required (i.e. deburring)
• Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality, productivity, organizational, and safety goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

• High school, or equivalent

Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

• Ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance levels set for quality and quantity.
• Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or environment.
• Ability to work through daily operational activities.
• Good interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
• Ability to plan effectively and execute the plans.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Must have strong PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft products

Physical/Work Environments

• Worker will be working in a machine shop setting.
• Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Worker must be able to stand throughout duration of their shift.
