    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Referral Coordinator to facilitate patient navigation to specialty services as referred by clinic providers. The successful candidate will coordinate the referral process, including benefit and insurance verification and authorization, as well as patient scheduling and communications.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate patient referrals from providers and maintain tracking and documentation.
    • Serve as primary contact for patients, providing communications and information for specialty services.
    • Ensure complete and accurate patient registration, including demographic and up-to-date insurance details. Review details and expectations about the referral with patients.
    • Contact patients' insurance companies for prior authorization to ensure approval requirements are met. Confirm referral requests and requirements.
    • Facilitate requests from referral sources and provide relevant information.
    • Investigate and problem-solve issues or concerns in the referral process to ensure positive working relationships.
    • Provide excellent customer service and timely follow-up and response.
    • Perform clerical functions for the clinic, facilitating the flow of information between medical staff, providers, insurance companies, and patients.

    Requirements

    This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate to be available to work on-site at the clinic.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Education: High School diploma or GED
    • Experience: 1 year of customer service experience

    Salary

    $45,000 - $60,000 per year
