GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Divisional Secretary provide spiritual leadership and operational management to Salvation Army programs, memberships, and services of the assigned location/unit. In accordance with The Salvation Army policy and governing laws establish center goals and objectives by prioritizing related programs, managing use of personnel, delegating tasks, and evaluating progress regularly.
Qualifications:
Must be a soldier of The Salvation Army and must be able to wear a Salvation Army uniform while on duty. Must be committed to The Salvation Army Christian Mission and ministry
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 90 days of hire and be at least 21 years of age.
Essential Responsibilities:
Be familiar with and able to properly conduct all Salvation Army religious services, including but not limited to: Sunday School; Holiness Meetings; Salvation Meetings; Mid-week Prayer Meetings; Bible Study; Open-Air Meetings; Council Meetings.
Be familiar with and able to direct and conduct group and community meetings, including but not limited to: Home League; League of Mercy; Senior Citizens; Advisory Organization Meetings; Men's Fellowship; Musical Organizations; Census Boards; Council Meetings; Youth Corps Meetings, Cradle Roll; BSA Cubs/SACC Explorers;* BSA Scouts/BSA Rangers;* BSA Scouts/BSA; Adventurers: * Sunbeams * Guards * Corps Cadets * Vacation Bible School.
Responsible for the total management and program and its successful operation, which includes but is not limited to the following:
Pastoring the soldiers, friends and interested community members, and to visit appropriately those of the center and community in their homes as well as shut-ins.
All business matters affecting and relating directly to the assigned center.
Maintain the fiscal integrity of the assigned center, including complete and proper record keeping and security.
Provide the highest possible stewardship of funds, property and resources.
Provide the proper balance of religious and social service activity.
Maintain good public relations and function in harmony with The Salvation Army guidelines.
Promote, direct and support special events and activities for the assigned center.
Maintain proper records including statistical, financial, and all other required reports.
Supervise all employees of the assigned center, including the processing of all employee matters through the Human Resources Department.
Other duties as required or assigned by the Divisional Secretary or designated
representative.
