    Job Summary

    Supervise the Diversity Recruitment and Retention team so the Department of Human Services (DHS) attracts and retains talented and high-quality employees that reflect the agency's diverse clientele. In collaboration with DHS business areas, this position will partner closely with staff in Human Resources, Equal Opportunity and Access, and Agency Development and Learning to successfully implement equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies to recruitment and retention activities across the agency.

    Additional responsibilities include:
    • Direct diversity recruiting functions;
    • Direct development, coordination and communication of diversity recruitment and retention activities;
    • Provide D&I consultation services; and coordinate the development and implementation of equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives for employee recruitment and retention.
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Demonstrated leadership experience*

    *Leadership experience can include:
    • Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead;
    • Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4);
    • A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g. ERG) - experience must include:
    Four 4 years of experience advancing equity, diversity, equal opportunity, and affirmative action activities and programs within a diverse and complex organization employees).

    Experience must demonstrate:
    • Leading teams in DEI efforts
    • Designing, developing, and implementing innovative outreach using diversity, equity and inclusion best practice
    • Developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, professional organizations that are excellent sources of diverse, qualified talent for a variety of positions
    • Experience working in diverse communities;
    • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects and client relationships.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Supervisory experience
    • Knowledge of ADA, Affirmative Action (AA), and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and resources to include but not limited to the Minnesota Human Rights Act, the Rehabilitation Act and Amendments, the Civil Rights Act and Amendments, and ADA Accessibility Guidelines.
    • Experience proactively networking and establishing effective working relationships with diverse audiences, communities, and organizations.
    • Previous experience developing and implementing pipeline programs.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Previous experience in recruitment, marketing, or outreach.
    • Ability to self-start and to work with little direct supervision.
    • Strong consulting and relationship building skills.
    • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
