    About The Job

In this newly created role, you will provide support to the Head of Financial Accounts and will be responsible for adherence to the University's tax strategy, ensuring a robust compliance and reporting framework is maintained for direct and indirect taxes, and any tax risks or opportunities are identified on a timely basis - either working directly on issues or providing support to colleagues.

In addition to a professional accounting qualification (ideally CCAB) or at the final stage towards it, or a professional tax qualification, you will have substantial experience in taxes involving complex organisations, preferably within the higher education sector.

Computer literacy is very important too, while familiarity with Unit4 Agresso accounting software would be an advantage.

You are someone who communicates confidently and clearly with a wide range of people, comfortable producing reports, interpreting financial data for audiences without a finance background.

Crucially, you are great at prioritising your own workload and that of others while meeting deadlines, have excellent analytical skills and a logical and structured approach to completing tasks and solving problems.
