$170,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

Role Overview

As the Associate Director of Development, you will lead projects and provide leadership to a team of developers working on U.S.-based renewable energy initiatives.

Your primary focus will be on mid- and late-stage development phases, guiding the team through the identification, strategy development, and execution of necessary real estate, environmental, and permitting functions.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Project Management:
Act as the main point of contact with landowners, negotiate site control agreements, and secure planning/use permit approvals.
Oversee various studies and manage external consultants to ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including federal, state, and local officials, project landowners, and community members.
Handle complex negotiations and develop innovative solutions to project-specific challenges.

Mentorship and Team Leadership:
Ensure effective communication with stakeholders, including customers and various officials.
Assist your team in obtaining local, state, and federal permits.

Guide your team in complex negotiations, developing solutions to project-specific challenges such as land agreements, tax abatements, and road use agreements.

Standardize the management of consultants and external parties to adhere to project budgets and timelines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college program.
7+ years of experience in renewable energy development.
Experience in MISO, PJM, ERCOT, and SPP power markets.
Significant experience with mid- to late-stage development projects, including real estate, interconnection, permitting, and environmental studies.
Proven leadership in growing teams and achieving financial and operational goals.
Experience or interest in utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage projects.
Solid understanding of key value drivers for renewable power projects.
Ability to work in a flat organization and leverage expertise across different reporting lines.
Excellent communication, project management, and team-building skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Earth.
Willingness to travel as needed.
