    Mold Maker Responsibilities:


    • Responsible for troubleshooting of injection molds for repair work - including broken components, part flash, sticking parts, leaking water or some other improper function of the injection mold Ability to repair or make new replacement components such as ejector pins, core pins, cam pins, bolt thread repair, etc Dismantles or partially dismantles molds to locate cause of malfunction or cause of part defect Replaces or repairs damaged area


    • Interprets prints for tooling modifications, accuracy and improvements


    • Capable of assigning work and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to the work assignments


    • Performs preventive maintenance


    • Recommends design changes to new and existing tools


    • Works with all employees to continuously improve quality and production


    • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators


    • Works to tolerances as close as zero


    • Troubleshoot tooling problems at the presses


    • Keep accurate records on all applicable documentation


    • Maintains tooling inventory by notifying supervisor in writing of parts needed


    • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase shop efficiencies


    • Assist other tool makers with troubleshooting


    • Responsible for the safe and effective operation of equipment to produce product in specifications in a timely and cost-efficient manner


    • To perform other job-related duties as determined and assigned by the supervisor


    • Knowledge of working on and troubleshooting hot runner systems and their respective controllers - PREFERRED


    • Eye protection and safety shoes are required in all production areas.

    Mold Maker Qualifications:


    • High school diploma or equivalent


    • Associates degree (A.A.) or certificate in tool & die – PREFERRED


    • 5 Years Mold Making Experience


    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals


    • Ability to communicate effectively


    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions


    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables


    • AutoCAD experience


    • Solidworks experience


    • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, predictive maintenance, 5S and related manufacturing best practices - PREFERRED


    • Frequently required standing


    • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds


    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

    Mold Maker must have qualifications:


    • Leading mold builds assigned from start to finish


    • Tool/Mold Repair Skills


    • Tool/Mold Setup Experience


    • Blueprint Reading


    • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment


    • Injection Molding Experience
