Operations Technician - Edinburgh, IN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs all duties in a safe environmentally compliant manner Demonstrates ability to work in a safety-conscious environment and follow all applicable safety and environmental regulations Ensures that grain facilities are well maintained by adhering to a strict maintenance schedule Follow established policies and procedures along with proper communication when operating grain handling equipment Repairs rebuilds equipment to maintain its integrity ensure its longevity Cleans prepares storage facilities including but not limited to grain bins ground piles If employed at a rail loading facility this employee is responsible for loading trains when shipping grain to a customer facility This includes opening heavy lids in preparation for loading rail cars making sure bottom doors are closed secure Visually monitors grain grain products for irregularities takes proper action when discovered Demonstrates ability to recognize quality control issues with grain Assists unloads grain from trucks Weighs/measures grape output on trucks Possesses some mechanical aptitude including ability to recognize when equipment is not operating properly Understands how safely shut down isolate equipment for maintenance using Lock Out – Tag Out procedures Immediately report accidents/or injuries immediate supervisor person next level supervision Knows understands operation skid loader front-end loader yard tractor lawnmower as well as equipment specific locations needed Operates dryers needed Assumes other duties assigned supervisor Other Duties Responsibilities Assists performing maintenance work required Performs housekeeping related cleanliness orderliness grape handling area tunnels concrete grounds grass areas etc areas within site delegated position supervisor manager Keeps current maintains training requirements position Checks fire extinguishers monthly Wear proper PPE including safety harness off ground train Reminds others needed Plan days work advance Trains new hires seasonal employees needed Works weighmaster needed Assumes other duties assigned supervisor Characteristics Attributes Works promotes safety all areas responsible making sure fellow employees work safely Encourages safe correct behavior employees working unsafe manner Possesses problem-solving skills mechanical aptitude Maintains integrity demonstrates dependability conducting aspects work Exhibits style setting own direction sound independence often required Able bring about great results ordinary circumstances solve problems create opportunities advance without supervision Demonstrates take-charge positive attitude Treat customers respect Requirements Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities Education Experience Licensure High School Education equivalent employment Good people-orientation skills important Prior experience working grape facility preferred Physical Demands The physical demands described here representative those must be met employee successfully perform essential functions job Reasonable accommodations made individuals disabilities perform essential functions Work Environment Office setting general hours am pm Some travel different site may required Position will incur multiple responsibilities Confidentiality Employees this position acknowledge information acquire Kokomo Grain related third party considered confidential The above statements intended describe general nature level work performed people assigned classification They are not intended construed exhaustive list all responsibilities duties skills required employees so classified Management retains discretion add change duties position time
