**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**

Establish, build, and maintain internal customer and key vendor relationships.

Ensure the continuous supply of required goods & materials and communicate any issues that could affect supply chain, pose a risk, or have an impact on business operations

Issue, follow-up, and manage purchase orders and review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.

Support product change requests and new product development while working with cross functional teams to manage product life cycles and recommend product disposition.

Prepare and solicit RFQ/RFPs as operational cost reduction improvement efforts. Analyze quotations to determine the most competitive solution relative to quality, service, and price.

Develop and report financial impact analysis and cost comparison requests to upward levels of management and peers.

Support cross functional teams by managing projects through the entire procurement life cycle and providing continuous communication.

**Education & Experience Requirements:**

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years experience as a Buyer in an OEM setting.

Ability to respond consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues or complex problems.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

Project management experience will be a plus

Strong procurement knowledge and understanding of Total Bills of Materials, part drawing and industry standards

Ability to enter into new situations independently with limited supervision

Ability to coach, and/or mentor purchasing team members on standard work or new procedures.
