    As a Full-time Registered Nurse, you will assist with overseeing laboratory operations and work alongside an exceptional team of nurses in providing high-quality care for all patients.

    Responsibilities & Job Description

  • Ensure patient areas are clean and ready to receive patients each procedure day. Ensure opening lab and closing responsibilities are completed. Adheres to HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Pre-operative tasks: When assigned to the pre-and post-operative area, ensure the patients have followed pre-operative instructions as directed. Review patients' clinical information prior to their procedure including past medical history, lab values, current medications, and confirm allergies. Take the patient's vital signs, shave groin sites, conduct lab testing when indicated, and initiate IV access. Assess the patient's physical status including peripheral vascular status. Follow nursing and laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Intraoperative tasks: Must receive training for conscious sedation administration. Review patient's pre-procedure paperwork and initiate time outs when assigned to the procedure lab. Under the direction and supervision of the physician, provide mild to moderate sedation and continuous monitoring of patient status.
  • Post-operative tasks: Recover patients after their procedure including assessing their access site, peripheral vascular status, pain level, and vital signs. Ensure documentation is clear and accurate. Provide patient education and discharge instructions. Updates sent daily to providers after the completion of procedures.
  • Complete nursing supply orders, assist with inventory management, complete monthly medication checks, and monthly crash cart checks.
  • Assists with leadership responsibilities as needed:
  • Nursing staff schedule
  • Compliance for our accreditation and testing systems
  • Ensures patient satisfaction and delivery of high quality care
  • Functions as a resource for per diem nursing staff and assists with training as needed
  • Requirements:

  • RN NY state license
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • One year of nursing experience in a cath lab, ICU, ER, or step down/intermediate care unit setting. Cath lab experience preferred.
  • Conscious sedation experience preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Covid Vaccination (NY state requirement)
