Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
Provide specialized instruction and support to help students achieve academic and social goals.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, teachers, and therapists, to create a nurturing learning environment.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
Assess student progress and make necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education (or related field).
Active/Valid state teaching certification/license in Special Education in NY.
Prior experience working with students with special needs (preferred) in a life skills teaching.
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
