    The OpportunityThe Facilities Engineer will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical, mechanical equipment, and BMS systems in CZI's leased buildings, grounds, and CZII's life science space.

    The selected candidate will utilize their technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills while understanding the importance of working as a team within the REWFS department, performing general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance as needed and assigned.

    This role requires a high level of customer service, the ability to take direction, and a strong desire to learn and grow.

    What You'll DoGeneral Day-To
    • DayThe ideal candidate has experience and knowledge in mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems with facilities equipment and systems.

    Has expertise with various facilities infrastructure equipment and support equipment including ductwork, piping, exhaust, wiring and HVAC.Has strong experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and familiarity with Schneider (BMS) systems.

    Ensures our building systems are maintained to provide maximum efficiency to support staff comfort.
    Partners with EH&S to ensure safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
    Is available 24/7 for after hours work, projects, and emergencies.
    Performs other assigned duties.
    VendorsEscorts vendors to ensure their jobs are completed safely and to satisfaction. May be required to schedule and manage service providers and contractors to ensure conformance with building performance specifications.
    Preventative MaintenanceCompletes all assigned preventative maintenance work orders.
    Shares feedback to Sr. Facilities Engineer regarding the preventative maintenance program and inventory control for our buildings.
    Develop, coordinate preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability, and safety of the equipment. Projects & RenovationsMay be asked to analyze and provide input into equipment drawings prior to construction or remodeling projects. Might also need to provide oversight and inspection of construction work at its various stages until project completion.

    What You'll BringMinimum of three years' experience as a Facilities/Building Engineer in Healthcare, Life Science, or Class A High Rise buildings.

    Must be familiar with HVAC and electrical codes.
    Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
    Ability to use Microsoft Office, Google suite, and other ticketing systems; Jira, Service Now or Angus.
    Excellent communication and time management skills.

    Valid Driver LicenseAbility to lift and maneuver 50+ lbs frequently throughout the shiftCompensationThe Redwood City, CA base pay range for this role is $102,000-$153,000.

    New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time.

    Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. Pay ranges outside Redwood City are adjusted based on cost of labor in each respective geographical market.
