    Solid Cisco R/S, Nexus & Catalyst skills.

    Engagement:


    The State of Michigan is looking for a candidate with a Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) focus on enterprise datacenter networking.

    This role will wear multiple hats assisting State of Michigan Enterprise Networking Architect and operations team to comprehend objectives, generate solutions, POC the solution, generate recommendations then implement the decisions.


    This resource will be a principal architect/engineer involved in the design, implementation and management of technology-based business solutions based on datacenter networking to improve the State of Michigan datacenter network.

    We are looking for a collaborative team player that is comfortable supporting a hybrid workforce at all levels of the organization.

    Applicants should possess exceptional analytical, communication and critical thinking skills along with an understanding of the Agile framework.


    This position will assist with the architecture and implementation of the Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) build out of the State of Michigan datacenter network.

    This position will also be working with other enterprise network architects supporting the overall strategic, technical, architectural, and administrative oversight of the enterprise network and infrastructure environments throughout the State of Michigan.

    Responsibilities will include all functions required to plan, design, optimize, implement, manage, and trouble-shoot escalated issues within the enterprise network infrastructure.

    Standard 1 year engagement and 1984 hours.
    Possible extension beyond the 1-year standard agreement
    Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday Friday
    The working model for this position will be remote.

    Core Tasks

    Provide strategic and support representing Design Services and the State of Michigan IT Strategy as a Subject Matter Expert as an enterprise network architect.

    Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.
    ssist in developing solutions to existing and upcoming technical problems.
    ssist with supporting infrastructure solutions to existing or upcoming technical needs or problems.
    Implementation and support of data center network solutions. Analyze, assist with design, document, and migratations.
    Develop remediation plans for security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests.

    Lead the development of technical artifacts including Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Detailed Technical Design, Security Architecture Plan, Services Description Document, etc.

    Monitor, upgrade, troubleshooting and maintenance for the network infrastructure.
    Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.

    Consult with vendor product specialists, independent research organizations, on-site support engineers on best-fit technologies to ensure compliance to department policies & standards and technology roadmap.

    Communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of various technical ability.

    Consult with vendor product specialists/sales, independent research organizations, on-site support engineers and fellow architects and administrators on best-fit technologies to ensure compliance to department policies & standards and technology roadmap.

    Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture team for technology validation or suggestions for alternative solutions. If necessary, initiate Solution Assessments, Infrastructure Service.
    Plan and develop support processes that adhere to best practices (ITIL).
    Provide support with performance analysis & troubleshooting.

    Provide direct support to technical and non-technical entities to define requirements and deliver solutions to meet organizational needs including new environment deployment, upgrades, performance tuning, testing and disaster recovery.

    Document and Knowledge transfer, document architecture, design decisions, and setup instructions for future reference and onboarding of new team members.

    Provide support and subject matter expertise with respect to adherence to best practice security framework controls and other industry-based regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-37, 800-53, , , , CIS, PCI, IRS-Pub 1075, CJIS, and related).

    Build and maintain relationships across organizational teams.
    Provide resolution of conflicts, connectivity, and security issues.
    Prepare information for presentations.
    Mentor staff on tips, techniques and best practices to be utilized for the infrastructure environment.
