    Job Overview:
    Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking an experienced

    Substation Commissioning Engineer

    to join our

    team in

    Waltham, MA.


    Responsibilities & Duties:
    Detailed design for transmission or distribution system protection to include relays, communication and monitoring systems, panel meters, control house panels, cables and associated wiring materials
    AC and DC schematics and breaker controls
    Development of operating and elementary diagrams
    Development and review of protection schemes and devices
    Development and issuing of temporary (mobile) transformer settings
    Conducting electric system modeling and short circuit analyses
    Determination of equipment interrupting ratings
    Relay coordination studies
    Civil structural and construction design, engineered shoring plans, engineered traffic plans
    Distribution electrical design (including but not limited to one-lines, construction events)
    Evaluation of electrical systems for necessary upgrades for interconnection
    Specification and procurement of equipment and material
    System Protection & Control (SP&C) Design including the creation of SP&C construction drawing packages and the procurement of materials
    Provide engineering assistance during testing and commissioning


    Qualifications & Skills:
    Three (3) years or more of Power System Engineering experience with a minimum of 4+ years specifically focus on design for protection and control (P & C)
    Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
    IEC61850 standards knowledge
    Knowledge and experience with ProjectWise Drawings
    Experience using AutoCAD and PLS-CADD
    Experience writing design criterion and installation specifications for projects
    Skills in developing single-line switching and protection diagrams as well as three-line and DC schematic diagrams
