    Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    SUMMARY
    Excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join Adient's automotive seating plant in Murfreesboro, TN.


    BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
    Ensures that product quality is attained in the assigned product through fulfillment of workmanship standards and quality-program requirements.
    Provides Supervision leadership, guidance and training to the Quality Technicians.
    Recommends or implements the appropriate corrective action to quality problems in the assigned area, with the aid of engineering, purchasing, etc
    Generates or implements defect-reduction activities.
    Writes control plans, etc. Ensures that all special characteristics are identified on quality plan.
    Notifies management of nonconforming product. Monitors and removes suppliers from containment.
    Ensures that process changes meet customer requirements. Responsible for updating quality documentation and completing required documentation for customer approval.
    Responsible for identifying/maintaining appearance master samples.
    Responsible for selecting appropriate process controls, defining requirements for data collection, analysis and corrective action.
    Knowledgeable of IATF16949 and Adient BOS standards.
    Monitors performance, identifies skills, training and capabilities needed for all Quality Technicians.
    Performs advanced statistical process control. Must be able to evaluate and verify color.

    Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, reporting unsafe acts, participating in safety/ergo committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in blue sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events.

    Has a solid understanding of lean principles, including: Waste elimination, Pull systems, Kanban, Visual workspace, One piece flow, Flow Production, Set-up reduction, Standardized work, Variation reduction, Error proofing, Total Productive Maintenance, Design for Manufacturing, Ergonomics, Kepner Traego problem solving, and lean replenishment systems including supermarkets, orphanages, buffer calculations, line-side replenishment, I-supply, JTDS, and level loading


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree and five (5) to ten (10) years as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing environment, or Associate degree with six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in automotive quality field.

    Knowledge of ISO9001 or IATF16949 standards and audit experience is highly desired.
    Strong Communication skills.
    APQP, PPAP, Control Plan and PFMEA knowledge and direct involvement experience.
    Statistics knowledge (MSA, SPC, etc.).
