CNC Production Operator - Gunnison, United States - Proteor

SCOPE OF POSITION

Produces machined parts by setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) mills, lathes, and waterjets; maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records; maintains equipment and supplies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and manage CNC mills, lathes, and waterjets to perform different jobs, including drilling, milling, and cutting by selecting and installing correct fixtures and programs.
• Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary changes to produce improved results.
• Communicate logistics issues that arise in the process of creating a part.
• Ensure that results of machining process align with our expectations.
• Conduct regular machine assessments and preventive maintenance.
• Manual mill & lathe operation.
• Assembly work on specialty products

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (including education)

Measuring Skills including calipers, micrometers, go/no-go gauges, etc.

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Supply Management, Tooling, Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail, Judgment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarization with CNC and manual machine operations preferred.
