    AmeriCorps Public Health Specialist


    The goal of Wisconsin's Association of Free Clinics (WAFCC) is to better serve the many communities throughout Wisconsin by helping to build resources in community health departments.


    WAFCC does this in many ways such as:

    helping to foster and develop community collaboration, helping to implement best practices, helping with programmatic development via policies and procedures, and much more.

    We are looking for a candidate who is a strategic thinker who will help us develop both long and short terms plans that will improve our public and partner communications.

    In addition, we are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter that can work both in person or remotely.

    Member Duties :

    • Improve the health of Sawyer County residents through health promotion and injury prevention education o Develop an annual health promotion and injury prevention communication plan o Create templates for media blasts for common emergency events o Attend local events to promote healthy living and injury prevention
    • Improve transparency of public health efforts o Develop monthly/quarterly reports for the Health and Human Services Board o Create a quarterly newsletter for public distribution o Create a dashboard for workplans o Develop annual report from data collected
    • Coordinate health department quality and performance improvement plan o Conduct a public health accreditation readiness review o Collaborate with health officer to prioritize efforts based on the review
    • Assist with communicable disease investigation and education o Develop communications based on current communicable disease incidence
    • Improve health department priorities through data analytics
