    Basic Job Functions:
    The ideal candidate will be a creative, process-minded, effective communicator.

    The responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer will include but not limited to:

    Providing technical support for maintenance and operations Design and implement innovative solutions to enhance production Design and troubleshoot mechanical components and systems Perform mechanical analysis on various systems and write mechanical specifications and documentation.

    Manage capital projects Seek out and implement process improvement projects across the production siteSafety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in a technical field and two years of relevant work experience or five years of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree Project Management experience including creating budgets, timelines, material and service specifications, and resource coordination Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including materials, mechanics, and manufacturing processes

    Preferred Qualifications:
    PMP certification PE Certification Experience with machine design using electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. Excellent computer skills.

    Familiarity with Process Automation and Control technologies Experience in melting / casting operations, and/or rolling mill operationsBenefits:
