- Responsible for assessing, developing and monitoring the clinical knowledge, skills and competencies of each individual counseling staff member.
- Provides oversight of staff groups, individual therapy, and assessments.
- Completes comprehensive assessment of client's substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and prepares individualized developmentally appropriate treatment plan.
- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions; documents treatment and discharge plans, progress notes, and responses to treatment
- Creating, planning, facilitating, and documenting evidence based therapeutic groups that meet the clinical treatment needs of the adult patients at CRH
- Ability to supervise, train, or instruct lower-level counselors, students, or interns.
- Ability to serve as clinical resource.
- Knowledge of evidence-based group treatment for substance use.
- Knowledge and practical application of advanced therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and trauma focused therapy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and appropriate therapies based on medical or psychological diagnoses.
- Knowledge of the substance abuse addiction processes, including psychological and physical withdrawal.
- Knowledge of assessment tools for addiction disorders.
- Ability to formulate clear, goal-oriented treatment documentation.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and in working effectively with staff and patients.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clinical supervision to the Clinical Substance Abuse Counselors in the Clinical Treatment Services Department and to provide individual and group counseling, assessments, and development of the substance abuse program.
