Central Regional Hospital

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Substance Abuse Supervisor Central Regional Hospital (CRH) in the Department of Psychosocial Treatment / Clinical Treatment Services.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clinical supervision to the Clinical Substance Abuse Counselors in the Clinical Treatment Services Department and to provide individual and group counseling, assessments, and development of the substance abuse program.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Responsible for assessing, developing and monitoring the clinical knowledge, skills and competencies of each individual counseling staff member.
Provides oversight of staff groups, individual therapy, and assessments.
Completes comprehensive assessment of client's substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and prepares individualized developmentally appropriate treatment plan.
Conducts individual and group counseling sessions; documents treatment and discharge plans, progress notes, and responses to treatment
Creating, planning, facilitating, and documenting evidence based therapeutic groups that meet the clinical treatment needs of the adult patients at CRH

The normal work hours for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. primarily Monday through Friday with some flexibility to meet special agency needs. Some weekend work is required. Flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather.

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess all of the following:

Ability to supervise, train, or instruct lower-level counselors, students, or interns.
Ability to serve as clinical resource.
Knowledge of evidence-based group treatment for substance use.
Knowledge and practical application of advanced therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and trauma focused therapy.
Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and appropriate therapies based on medical or psychological diagnoses.
Knowledge of the substance abuse addiction processes, including psychological and physical withdrawal.
Knowledge of assessment tools for addiction disorders.
Ability to formulate clear, goal-oriented treatment documentation.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and in working effectively with staff and patients.

Credentialed as a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board to practice under the provisions of the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Act.

Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
