    TK Elevator is currently seeking an Sr. Buyerin Middleton, TN.

    To identify, research, evaluate and make recommendations to the appropriate commodity manager to enter into a contractual agreement with vendors the organizations standards are met in price, quality, timing and continuity of supply.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Ensures continuity-of-supply by the use of practical problem solving and other lean tools.
    • Initiates communication with vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Order materials, parts and products.
    • Assist with pricing, invoicing, tracking and processing of orders.
    • Identify and solve problems by conducting root cause analysis.
    • Identify, recommend and assist in the implementation of cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
    • Identify, research, evaluate and make recommendations to the appropriate commodity manager to enter into a contractual agreement with vendors to ensure that standards of priced, quality, timing and continuity of supply are met.
    • Analyze trends to generate meaningful forecasts.
    • Participate in physical inventory annually.
    • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
    • Train and Mentor Buyers I & II.
    • Lead cross-functional RIEs that result in material planning improvements.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to permanently resolve continuity-of-supply issues.
    • Works with vendors to create processes resulting in lower inventory levels.
    • Adhere to the Office 6S principles.
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
    • High School or Equivalent required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Finance or related field required
    • Master's Degree a plus.
    • APICS Certification a plus.
    • Seven or more years of direct purchasing and planning experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Demonstrated success in year over year material cost reduction projects preferred.
    • Advanced analytical skills required.
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings of component parts required.
    • Must be familiar with engineering change processes, bill of materials, company parts and products.
    • Solid written and oral communication skills essential for the role.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple functions in a fast paced environment.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
    • Must be organized and detail-oriented to manage multiple projects.
