    THIS IS AN IN OFFICE TAMPA BASED POSITION

    The Controller will assume a pivotal leadership role within our growing accounting.

    Reporting to the CFO, this role requires an experienced individual who has excelled in the service sector (AC, Plumbing, Solar, Roofing, etc.) and has a comprehensive background in private equity settings.

    The selected candidate will exemplify strong leadership, attention to detail, and the capability to foster a team environment that achieves financial precision and operational efficiency.


    Essential Functions:
    Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

    Manage and lead the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting with a zero-tolerance policy for missing deadlines.

    Direct the monthly closing processes, including consistent reconciliations of every balance sheet account on a timely basis and providing detailed explanations for monthly variations to the balance sheet and income statement accounts.

    Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

    Offer training, supervision, and task delegation within the accounting department.

    Ensure adherence to GAAP.

    Lead the annual external audit with EY and ensure the engagement stays on track.

    Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

    Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the companys performance.

    Facilitate the financial integration of acquisitions as needed.

    Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

    Possible travel to various regions to support branches, 10-25% travel; may include overnight stay.

    Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

    Education, Licensure and Experience Requirements:
    Bachelors degree in Accounting required.

    Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

    Prior experience in a controller capacity, preferably within the service industry pool industry preferred.

    Demonstrated background in a private equity-backed environment, with a deep understanding of the dynamics and expectations therein.

    Demonstrable leadership abilities, capable of mentoring and managing a small, specialized accounting team.

    Proficient with Sage Intacct and Concur for expense reporting.

    Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to financial processes.

    Ability to be both strategic and task-focused, when necessary


    Competencies/Skills:
    Ability to accurately manipulate large amounts of data.

    Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

    Will have a high attention to detail and accuracy.

    Build strong relationships across the organizations to leverage ideas, capabilities and processes.

    Excellent management and supervisory skills.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    Execute clear, concise and timely written and verbal communication.

    Interpret and prioritize multiple actions and requests to meet deadlines and close the loop with the appropriate parties.

    Ability to effectively use information systems to conduct business, including but not limited to MS Office and enterprise systems (ERP).


    Starting Salary for this position:
    $120-150k/year with a potential bonus based on successful achievement of set standards and metrics.
