Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a regional medical center in Honolulu, HI to find a qualified and compassionate Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled NNP to provide critical care to neonates and their families in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Summary:

You will play a vital role in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) by delivering comprehensive care to a diverse population of newborns, ranging from healthy to critically ill. You will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of neonates, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in consultation with attending physicians.
• Perform essential procedures such as resuscitation, intubation, and catheterization.
• Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to guide patient care decisions.
• Prescribe medications, including phototherapy, antibiotics, and nutritional support.
• Provide ongoing patient education and support to families.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in neonatal care through continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization.
• Current National Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).
• Valid Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a Level III NICU setting.
• Strong clinical skills in neonatal assessment, diagnosis, and management.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and critical care environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and family-centered care.
