    Major Responsibilities:

    • Serve as residential counselor for specified number of residents as requested by supervisor.
    • Complete program intakes and discharges for specified number of residents.
    • Use recovery-oriented principles to perform duties
    • Develop, implement, update and document treatment needs assessments, treatment plan, and progress reviews as part of continuous quality improvement activities.
    • Ability to observe, document, teach and respond to mental and physical health as well as other needs of consumers such as community living skills

    Specialty Responsibilities:

    Day Crisis Worker:

    • Assist clients with referrals and scheduling outpatient appointments.
    • Educate clients about safe medication storage
    • Ensure healthful menu planning, food shopping, and meal preparation through coordination and assistance
    • Lead treatment, skill development and/or recreational group (s) each week as assigned.
    • Attend teams and case conferences and collaborate with other providers for designated residents.
    • Provide outreach as designated to community-based residents.

    Awake Overnight Crisis Worker:

    • Complete paperwork and electronic medical record daily log entries.
    • Complete bed checks, update reports, complete incident reports and other required documentation and paperwork to ensure the program meets CHL and division standards
    • Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures
    • Replenish and inventory unit supplies and paperwork

    Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:

    • Complies with established division and program policies, procedures, and objectives.
    • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and trainings as required or directed.
    • Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
    • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
    • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors
    • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
    • Maintains confidentiality.

    Position Qualifications:

    License/Certification/Education:

    Required:

    Grade 5:
    Crisis Worker I: High School Diploma/GED/HiSet required

    Grade 6:
    Crisis Worker II: Requires a Bachelor's degree; preferably in the field of psychology or human services


    • MAP Certification required within 6 months of hire

    Preferred:

    Grade 5:
    Crisis Worker I: Associates degree

    Awake Overnight:

    Awake overnight staff must be able to remain awake and alert during the overnight shift to provide a safe and healthy environment for our clients and co-workers.


    • Must be able to pass a CORI background check


    Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
