    Metropolitan Pediatrics is seeking to fill a part-time advice nurse working at least 24 hours, with option for more if desired by candidate. Shifts would be weekday with potential for some weekends.

    This hybrid position could be scheduled in clinic and/or remote based on business need. Responsible for phone triage, providing education of medical conditions and advice to families and patients. When in clinic also responsible for collaborating with clinic staff/providers to create care plans, assisting providers with in clinic procedures to include difficult blood draws and catheters and medical emergency response.

    Essential Functions
    • Provide current and accurate advice for metro patients and families by telephone in a professional and courteous manner. Schedule follow-up appointments, as necessary, at all sites.
    • Provide onsite triage for provider in the clinic, based on business needs.
    • Assist provider with clinical procedures when necessary and collaborate to create a plan of care for each patient.
    • Update Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with relevant information.
    • Present educational topics to patients, families, and peers.
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information at all times.
    • Maintain exceptional patient relations, responding to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from parents or families.
    • Meet or exceed ER follow-up benchmark, and participate in other quality measures, as assigned.
    • Provide backup coverage for staff as needed, administering vaccinations, and rendering treatment for pediatric patients.
    • Successfully work in a fast-paced, changing environment with effective time management and ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
    • Participate in site-specific and clinic-wide initiatives on an ongoing basis.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related goals and results as needed.
    • Attend and actively participates in huddles and team meetings, remote or in clinic as needed.
    • Display high standards of office conduct.
    • Punctual, regular, timely, and dependable attendance.
    Metropolitan Pediatrics participates in E-Verify to confirm employees' eligibility to work in the U.S.

    Qualifications

    Education/ Experience
    • Current RN or LPN License in the State of Oregon
    • Degree from an accredited nursing program.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a family practice or pediatric clinical setting, preferably giving advice and performing triage.
    • Previous experience using Barton Schmitt Pediatric Protocols preferred.
    • Current CPR certification required.
    • PALS or PEARS certification preferred.
    • Understanding of clinic workflow required.
    • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
