Software Engineer, Reporting Services, EDW

Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited, one of the leading Financial Institutions in Cyprus, is seeking to recruit a Data Engineer at Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).

As a member of EDW you will play a significant role in organization's success by providing easier access to information for data scientists, analysts, and decision-makers.

You will rely on your programming and problem-solving skills to create scalable data solutions.

Main Responsibilities

Develop, test and maintain ETL processes that support internal and regulatory reporting or data requirements
Analyse, design, and implement automatic reconciliation mechanisms for data aggregation and reporting consistency
Perform and monitor data warehouse operational tasks like daily loading and report population. Act proactively by enhancing performance when needed

Act as Technical Owner of processes or applications owned by EDW ensuring smooth coordination with stakeholders, such as Business Owners, Business Users, Vendors, etc.

Troubleshoot data issues and defects to determine root cause and related recovery actions
Engage with teams across the bank (such as Business intelligence, Data Analytics Data Management) to support and contribute to related business initiatives
Draft technical and training manuals
Comply with procedures and circulars governing the Group's work processes
Stay up to date with market trends and competitive insights
Candidate Profile

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or in a related field
A postgraduate degree in Computer Science or in a related field will be considered an advantage
Strong SQL skills with hands on experience with using Teradata/Oracle/MS SQL or similar RDBMS technologies
Knowledge of the following areas will be considered an advantage :

• Data engineering mainly focused on Data Warehouse
• ETL solutions with industry standard ETL/ELT Tools like SAS Data Integration, Informatica, Pentaho
• Data Modelling methodologies
• Data Quality, Data Governance and Data Security techniques/solutions
• Version control tools (Microsoft Azure DevOps, Git)
• Business Intelligence Tools like SAS Enterprise Guide/VA, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, MS SQL Analysis Services
• CI/CD, Pipelines and Automated Testing
• Project Management experience in small to medium projects (experience of project development cycles)
• Cloud experience (Data Factory/Azure SQL on Microsoft Azure Cloud, Glue/S3/DynamoDB/Lambda on Amazon AWS)
• Regulatory reporting technologies like Prognosys, Moody's or similar
• Service Management tools such as Jira or Service Now
• REST web services and microservice architecture
• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB

Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
Attentive to detail, methodological and diligent
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact on a technical and non-technical level
Fluency in Greek and English, both verbal and written
