    Position Summary The Strategic Sourcing Manager serves as a key member of Supply Chain and will coordinate and collaborate with all levels of Supply Chain, clinical and non-clinical teams, administration, department stakeholders, and vendors to drive key organizational and departmental goals related to cost savings, process improvement, standardization, utilization reduction, and other supply chain initiatives.

    The position will focus on managing multiple indirect or direct spend categories.

    The position will partner with others on the Strategic Sourcing team and the Value Analysis team to develop sourcing strategy for specific categories to achieve key organizational and departmental goals.

    The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills as they will be working as the primary source of contact between ECU Health teammates and vendors across multiple functional areas.

    This position requires a high level of strategic and analytical thinking, project management, and organizational skills.

    Responsibilities Oversees the strategic sourcing process at ECU Health by leading all aspects of the sourcing process for assigned categories including but not limited to conducting market and financial analyses, developing a sourcing strategy, conducting RFIs/RFPs, engaging value analysis and key ECU Health stakeholders, leading contract negotiations, and managing and evaluating supplier relationships.

    Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with ECU Health leadership, clinicians, department stakeholders, and vendors to integrate cost savings programs into departmental services to ensure effective, results-oriented outcomes.

    Engage value analysis managers to conduct clinical efficacy research, cost analyses, monitoring actions and outcomes for new product requests, standard reporting, and clinical stakeholder engagement, when necessary.

    Proactively manages upcoming contract expirations by utilizing a contract calendar.

    Manages and executes Request for Proposal (RFP) process at contract expirations in assigned categories when market and benchmark data indicate savings opportunity.

    Brings forward cost savings ideas for review when applicable.

    Ideas can include but are not limited to product replacements, new technology, standardization, consolidation of vendors, and other initiatives as appropriate.

    Strong analytical skills demonstrating ability to share cost-benefit analysis, scenario-based savings options, incorporating industry benchmarking, among other decision points.

    Strong negotiation skills required to pursue cost-savings discussions with vendors as well as convince internal stakeholders of optimal decision for ECU Health.

    Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop negotiations strategies, as appropriate. Close contracts with optimal terms following negotiation.
    Drafts, negotiates and executes contracts for assigned categories and compares the assigned categories to industry trends and market standards. Provides ongoing support for requests for non-strategic products or services as required by the business.

    Ensures that contracts are current and include all essential terms in compliance with internal standards, risk considerations, and legal prerequisites.

    Performs duties in a manner that is consistent with ECU Health values and leadership competencies.
    Demonstrates leadership qualities and critical thinking through self-direction initiative and effective interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills.
    Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in the workplace.
    Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Accounting, Management, or related field- 5 years of business experience, with a focus in contract analysis and negotiationExperience in budgeting, vendor relations, performance/process improvement, project managementPreferredMaster's DegreeHealthcare industry experiencesPharmacy experiencesOther Information 40 hours a weekMonday
