    Quality Technician I

    Hours: 7a-4p or 8a-5p - site can be flexible


    The primary function of this position is to provide quality support for customers through product evaluation, testing, investigations, and communications.

    This position works closely with the factories, design teams, and other functions to drive continuous improvement.


    • Technical evaluations and repairs of warranty returns
    • Participate in problem solving teams
    • Write post evaluation customer reports as needed
    • Process shipping and receiving, and movement of PIC products at Menomonee Falls site
    • Enter return and evaluation data in the VISTA system.
    • Support follow-up on issues within the customers and factories.
    • Same day responses to internal and external customers with emergency requests.
    • When needed, Provide PIC customer service, and administrative support
    • Utilize customers' online quality portals to post evaluation results when required.
    • Assist customer service, credit reps and customers in the resolution of billing issues as needed
    • Help to ensure compliance with all corporate and local EHS policies
    • Facilitate ongoing continuous improvement in support of quality, productivity and growth objectives
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform basic root cause analysis on products under test and report findings.
    • Issue DMRs and work with suppliers on direct source nonconformances.

    SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

    • Training to operate within all lab locations.
    • Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, factories, and cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Organized, self-motivated, and able to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Understanding of inspection techniques, and processes.
    • Experience with mechanical and electrical measurement tools, basic hand and power tools.
    • Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    • Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 35 pounds.
    • Application of quality tools (Six Sigma, lean, cost of quality, etc.) desired.
    • Knowledgeable in problem solving tools such as Six Sigma, 8D, Root cause analysis, and SPC desired.
    • Working knowledge of FMEAs, pFMEAs, gauge R&R / MSA and control plans desired.
    • At least 2-year degree (or equivalent) in technical field desired.
