    One of my local Enterprise clients is actively looking for a BI Product Owner (SME) with specific PowerBI + SQL experience for a long-term contract role starting out at 6+ months - FULLY REMOTE

    The Business Intelligence Product Owner will be responsible for requirements gathering, the creation of reporting and visualizations, and data quality assurance for client's data ecosystem. Candidates MUST have a thorough understanding of reporting & visualization technologies. There will be a focus on relationships with various stakeholders throughout the organization and a requirement to fulfill data needs through business intelligence tools used throughout the organization to support strategic initiatives. Additionally, this individual will lead efforts to ensure that data output to the organization is accurate and complete.

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis and Modeling (SQL + PowerBI predominantly)
    • Strong ANSI SQL experience (DDL, views, stored procedures) is preferred
    • Display a high level of competence with relevant BI tools (Looker, Power BI, etc.) in such a way that business analysts and other end users have the proper guidance on how to use the technology
    • Validate, massage and clean data from all available sources to ensure the highest degree of accuracy and usability
    • Collaborate with other teams within IT to create a cohesive integration of systems and data
    • Participate in requirements gathering and brainstorming sessions, and be willing to suggest and provide innovative solutions to complex business problems
    • Research and stay abreast of industry leading technologies that improve business intelligence and create highly usable data models
    • Develop a practice for ensuring raw and refined data from the data ecosystem is accurate, matches (or improves) information coming from source systems, and validates calculations
    • Gather and enrich requirements from associates and business leaders throughout the organization
    • Proficient in common offerings within Office 365 product suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Ability to understand business structure and process to determine what measures and KPI's can be gleaned from existing data
    • Working knowledge of Google BigQuery and other structured data warehousing engines
    • Knowledge and familiarity with Power BI (DAX) and preferably exposure to Google Looker (LookML)
