    Job Description and Duties

    The CalSTRS Employer Services Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst on the Audits Resolution Team.

    The (ES) Division is the primary communication interface with the plan's participating employers. It is also the custodian of the members' accounts from election to benefit/termination status. Over a million contribution lines are submitted monthly from participating employers and ES staff ensures the timeliness and accuracy of the contribution data.

    The Audits Resolution Team collaborates with CalSTRS Audit Services, Crowe LLC, and employers to ensure the reporting by employers to CalSTRS complies with the Teachers' Retirement Law. Based on the audit findings and Crowe reviews, the Audits Resolution Team performs complex analysis, and applies the laws, policies, and procedures to secure accurate reporting of the compensation for our members and to provide education to the employers.

    Under the direction of the Audits Resolution Team Manager (Staff Services Manager I), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst works independently and performs complex analytical activities. The incumbent exercises a high degree of initiative in performing complex employer adjustment tasks and audit reports, while analyzing, interpreting, and applying appropriate laws, policies, and procedures. The incumbent must possess strong analytical skills, effective written and verbal communication skills; effective use of CalSTRS corporate database, Secure Employer Website (SEW), Imaging, and Microsoft Office Suite. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to develop and maintain good working and collaborative relationships amongst all levels of CalSTRS staff, leadership, and employers.

  • Ability to interpret retirement laws, rules, and policies
  • Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.

    Telework Information: We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2 days per week.
