    Systems Administrator
    Summary

    To assist the credit union in achieving its mission statement, " PFCU WILL DELIVER FINANCIAL WELL-BEING WITH VALUE, CONVENIENCE AND EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE". The System Administrator's role is to manage computer software systems, servers, and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with PFCU organizational goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Support, model & adhere to PFCU's Service Standards as outlined in My MARC. The System Administrator role is a Hybrid role, an employee in this role is REQUIRED to Travel to the Portland Michigan Head Quarters location a minimum of twice a month.
    Essential Functions, Duties, & Responsibilities
    • Implements, supports, documents and maintains the hardware, software, data and networks in accordance with credit union policy and procedures.
    • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data on hosted servers, computers, databases, and during data transfer in accordance with PFCU policy and industry best-practices.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
    • Provides second level technical support to users concerning application and database server operations.
    • Identify, anticipate, mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, client stations, backups and storage devices.
    • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
    • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases
    • Develops, supports and maintains vendor relationships with all technical vendors in accordance with procedural guidelines and conduct standards outlined in PFCU's policies and procedures.
    • Support department vendor billing processes by collecting and authorizing the payment of invoices, as assigned by department management.
    • Develop, facilitate and enhance business continuity plans in accordance with established procedural guidelines and policies.
    • Supports the evaluation of risks associated with IT activities in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
    • Serves as Primary Domain Administrator for PFCU.
    • Administrate and/or Support network routers and firewall(s).
    • Installs, configures, and maintains VoIP phone system.
    • Installs, configures and maintains application and storage servers
    • Assists Network Administrator in installation, maintenance and configuration of network appliances and switches, as needed.
    • Monitors all systems for performance and misuse; reports misuse to appropriate authorities.
    • Seek training opportunities to develop or enhance through training, conferences, reading etc.
    • Willingly participate in and attend educational functions and meetings as requested by management
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Regulatory Compliance

    Follows regulatory and policy compliance requirements which would include those efforts in compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Red Flag and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, and other compliance related policies.
    Confidentiality

    This position requires maintaining confidentiality with regard to non-public information about our members, employees and the Credit Union. We must protect the confidentiality of member information. Financial transactions are confidential and private. With account access, employees are to handle member information responsibly and confidentially.

    Education Requirements

    Two-year college degree or completion of specialized certification /licensing or specialized training in a similar or related field.

    Work Experience
    • Three to five years of system administration experience, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position
    • Operational knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
    • Operational knowledge of server virtualization
    • Operational knowledge of router/switch configuration
    • Ability to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied packaged programs for use with existing information systems
    • Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on servers, computers, and peripheral equipment
    Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, members, and the general public.
    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the capability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
    Other Skills & Abilities
    • Excellent knowledge of the credit union's core system.
