Prepare and cook the meals on a daily basis and make sure they are properly served to the residents.
Be able to resolve any issues that may arise, i.e. guests show up last minute, run out of an item, wrong items delivered, etc.
Follow the proper plating and food texture requirements for residents.
Be able to use FIFO when putting away stock or rotating items for use.
Maintain proper sanitation procedures throughout the entire work day.
Clean and maintain equipment on a daily basis to avoid major malfunctions not related to daily use.
Clean and organize as daily tasks are performed.
Proper labeling and dating of items to be stored in coolers and freezers.
Sweep kitchen and store room at the end of each day.
Clean, sanitize and put away dishes from prior meal preparation.
Assist in monitoring residents for adequate intake.
Assist staff with completion of tasks related to residents.
Job Requirements
Prior Cooking experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED
Flexibility when it comes to adjustments and changes in workload, hours, days, etc.
Sanitation certificate or prior sanitation training preferred.
Completion of the required disaster plan courses.
Possesses a valid driver's license.
Possesses a current CPR certificate.
Maintain complete confidentiality in regards to resident information.
Report complaints, problems or concerns to the chef or manager.
Adhere to established hospital and Terrace policies, rules and regulations
RepoNing Relationship:
Head Chef/Manager.
Ability to deal effectively with stress from change, multiple tasks, noises, and interruptions.
Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
Ability to detect the smell of smoke, spoiled food, soiled linen, etc.
Ability to concentrate on details with frequent interruptions and remember multiple tasks.
