- Collaborative Care: Collaborate effectively with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and manage anesthesia-related challenges.

- Advanced Nursing Education: Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree followed by a graduate-level program in nurse anesthesia. This graduate program must be accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) and typically culminates in a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
- Anesthesia Training and Clinical Experience: Rigorous training in anesthesia principles, pharmacology, and clinical practice during the graduate program.
- Certification and Licensure: Upon graduation, CRNAs must pass the National Certification Examination (NCE) administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) to obtain their certification. GENERAL SUMMARY
As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), the primary duty is to administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care to patients undergoing medical procedures, surgeries, or interventions. This includes patient assessment, anesthesia planning, and administration, monitoring patient vital signs, and managing anesthesia levels throughout procedures. CRNAs collaborate closely with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care, while also providing patient education and maintaining comprehensive records of anesthesia administration and patient assessments. Upholding ethical standards, adhering to healthcare regulations, and continuously advancing professional knowledge and skills are integral components of the CRNA role.
