    Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description

    We are seeking a Service-Minded and Career-Oriented individual to join our team as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Cedarhurst of Ft. Wayne community.

    The role of a Certified Nursing Assistant is crucial in providing direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in the activities of the community.

    Main Responsibilities:
    * Assist and provide direction to residents regarding their personal care needs, including grooming, hygiene, dressing, nutrition, etc.
    * Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs using a proactive approach.
    * Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
    * Transport residents or assist them with walking, turning, or repositioning them alone or with assistance.
    * Change bed linens, run errands, direct visitors, and answer telephones.
    * Assist with laundry and housekeeping duties.
    * Assist residents to and from dining rooms as needed and assist with meals.
    * Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities.
    * Listen and understand the problems of residents and report observations immediately to the care team as needed.
    * Promote the physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing of each resident, striving to maintain their maximum level of self-care and independence when possible.
    * Understand residents' Advance Directives and follow their wishes.
    * Ensure effective communication with the residents' families concerning residents' care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.

    Requirements:
    * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
    * Completion of an accredited CNA program preferred.
    * One year of experience as a certified nursing assistant preferred.
    * CPR or BLS certification preferred.
    * Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office programs, electronic health records systems, and any HR related systems if applicable.
    * Dependable and able to meet scheduling requirements with no restrictions.
    * Must possess a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding senior living care, as well as a solid understanding of opportunities and limits of other levels of care within senior living.
