As required by CLIA testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing test performance
Responsibilities
- Foollow established corrective actions taken when test systems deviate
- Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested in same manner patient samples
- Adequate knowledge theoretical tests procedures necessary review findings advise direct subordinates action
The Medical Laboratory Scientist Senior I Technical Supervisor Technical Consultant General Supervisor defined CLIA delegated responsibility technical oversight laboratory including day-to-day supervision operations personnel performing testing reporting results Under general supervision Technical Director Clinical Supervisors oversees assigned workstation QC review training competency assessment staff inventory management After successful completion orientation training competency assessment applicable instruments methods Follow laboratory s procedures specimen handling processing analyses reporting maintaining patient test result records Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples same manner patient samples Adhere quality control policies document all quality control activities instrument procedural calibrations maintenance Follow corrective action policies procedure whenever test systems not within acceptable performance levels Identify problems affect performance result reporting correct immediately notify appropriate supervisor consultant director Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate established specifications formal education: Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Sciences required Bachelor Degree Medical Technology required Bachelor's Degree Laboratory Sciences required Can role accept experience lieu degree No Licenses Credentials American Society Certification Board Certification ASCP-BOC required Experience lab experience years minimum Knowledge Skills Abilities The knowledge practical theoretical tests procedures necessary review findings advise direct subordinates action Demonstrates advanced level analytical skills judgement Must have understanding computer technology application analytical procedures quality control Comprehensive understanding laboratory equipment operation maintenance analytic techniques Ability multitask fast-paced environment Pay careful attention detail adhere written protocols communication supervisors issues identified Perform team member Interact professionally effectively numerous staff physicians hospital employees patients Advanced knowledge federal state accreditation requirements This position require patient care: No Essential Functions: Successful completion orientation training competency assessment applicable instruments methods:‣ Follows laboratory s procedures specimen handling processing analyses reporting maintaining patient
