    Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Valley Health.

    Job Summary:

    The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and provides high-quality care for patients of all ages from neonatal to geriatric in a fast-paced environment. Works closely with Radiologists, physicians, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Produces diagnostic ultrasound images in accordance with department scanning protocols under the general supervision of a Radiologist.
    • Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Works effectively in a collaborative environment with reliance on expertise, professionalism, and collaboration.

    Requirements:

    • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Sonography program.
    • (2) years of clinical diagnostic ultrasound experience is preferred.
    • ARDMS Certification in at least (1) speciality required.
    • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ˜Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required.
    • Additional RDMS certification in which the department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for accurate medical diagnosis as associated with ultrasound.
    • Competence in performing all types of general ultrasound procedures and services.
    • Ability to effectively operate all equipment utilized within the scope of a sonographer.
    • Accountability and attention to detail in the performance of duties.
    • Friendly and professional demeanor.
