    **Description**

    **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:**

    Promotes/supports plant safety efforts with the highest priority

    Spends a majority of time executing various aspects of procurement including supplier development, quoting, negotiating, sub-contracting, order processing and resolving order issues

    Exercises a key role in accomplishing plant customer service and inventory objectives (Raw/WIP/Buffers/Bulk) through effective inventory management/materials planning for assigned commodities and operational schedules

    Works with existing suppliers and participates in the development of new supplier relationships

    Develops future forecasts to assure reliable supply chain performance

    Identifies cost savings opportunities and coordinates with all responsible functions to achieve the desired cost results

    Performs root cause analysis in respect to assigned commodities, services or processes in order to eliminate non-conformances and improve customer service

    Expedites when required, material deliveries to meet special operational requirements such as push-ins or special customer requirements

    Provides assistance to all raw material/WIP warehousing and shipping/receiving functions as required

    **Education:**

    Bachelor's degree in business or related field is highly desired

    **Knowledge, Skills, Experience:**

    **Required:**

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).

    Effective verbal and written skills.

    Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities.

    Verifiable history of customer focus.

    Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

    **Preferred**:

    Working knowledge and proficiency in SAP systems

    Extensive knowledge of bill of materials and routings

    APICS CPIM, or an aggressive plan for achievement of certification.

    **Physical Demands:**

    Candidate will be required to work in an industrial environment, which may contain hazards such as: loud noise (ear protection must be worn); air-borne dust, exposure to hazards (pinch points, rotating machinery, sharp edges, conveyors, etc.) and wear all required personal protective equipment.

    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception

    Routinely reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

    Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch
