    JOB SUMMARY:
    Support and assist regular education and special education teams with student behaviors. Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Support K-12 specialized classrooms to ensure cohesive and consistent programming is delivered with fidelity.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Guides and supports learners identified with and without disabilities, learners experiencing behavioral difficulties, and learners who are "thought to be" exceptional and assist their school teams by providing guidance and assistance.
    • Assists K-12 specialized classroom teachers (ILS, LSS, and AS) in achieving cohesive programming through training, consultation, support, and transition programming.
    • Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
    • Serves as the Central York School District K-12 internal coach for PaTTAN's Autism Initiative and reports to building Special Education Supervisors and the Director of Special Education.
    • Provides just-in-time professional development and consultation to school staff in order for inclusive practices to be implemented successfully.
    • Participates in building-level behavior data team meetings.
    • Works with building teams in the design and implementation of engaging teaching strategies that support effective instruction, development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) for students exhibiting behaviors that impede their learning and the learning of others.
    • Participates in Multidisciplinary Educational (MDE) meetings (when appropriate): Evaluation, Reevaluation, and IEP team meetings.
    • Provides guidance and in the moment training to regular education teachers, special education teachers, and administrators in effective classroom management strategies, including creating and effective classroom environment, establishing a culture for learning, managing classroom procedures, managing student behaviors, and organizing the physical environment.
    • Assists with the transition of learners with behavioral issues into general education settings by assisting the staff in planning and implementing transition plans.
    • Assists in developing least restrictive strategies in IEP development to ensure the student achieves independence within the classroom setting.
    • Provides consultation and support to families regarding specific behavioral concerns.
    • Keeps current with changes in special education regulations and guidelines that impact the provision of special education services.
    • Makes decisions consistent with Central York mission, vision, and core values, and interacts and communicates effectively with staff, faculty, students, and administration.
    • Communicates with parents as directed.
    • Assumes any other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Appropriate PA Special Education Certification for all areas of assignment required.
    • Strong experience working with Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
    • At least 5 years experience working in special education in a public school setting.
    • Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks within the last twelve (12) months.
