    Starting Salary Range:

    Job Summary:

    The Compliance Specialist is responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and monitoring results through project management to ensure full compliance with the goals of the Nashville International Airport's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) and Small, Minority, and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (SMWBE) programs.

    The Compliance Specialist acts as the first line of defense in identifying and resolving compliance issues. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, outreach and compliance reporting.


    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Leads efforts with all departments to implement and ensure full compliance with the goals of the Nashville International Airport's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) and Small, Minority, and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (SMWBE) programs.
    • Provides high-level professional expertise to Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and its stakeholders by monitoring compliance on projects and maximizing SMWBE development and community relations opportunities for projects and other initiatives.
    • Communicates with Compliance Manager on compliance issues and remedies as appropriate.
    • Identifies SMWBE issues and coordinates with internal staff and external contractors to review and/or provide a remedy.
    • Creates appropriate backup documentation for SMWBE participation issues.
    • Analyzes and determines contractor's and concessionaire's progress toward contractual participation level attainment on DBE/SMWBE goals and identifies ways to improve achievement as necessary.
    • Performs site visits to monitor compliance with DBE, ACDBE and SMWBE regulations.
    • Gathers and reports statistical and other information as required for DBE and SMWBE programs under legal regulations; reviews third party contracts and lease agreements for compliance with the programs. Ensures that data is accurate and available for reporting participation results.
    • Manages contracts in the compliance and monitoring software (B2G); reconciles any data integrity issues to ensure accuracy and reports compliance.
    • Creates content for DBE/SMWBE training seminars and delivers training for DBE/SMWBE firms.
    • Attends progress meetings for construction and professional services contracts and is responsible for any DBE/SMWBE compliance related portions of the projects.
    • Creates and/or revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate to ensure compliance with federal and MNAA policies and regulations.
    • Assists with outreach activities related to business development, diversity and inclusion, workforce development, and the community.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelors degree in business, accounting, or related field or high school diploma and 5-7 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
    • 2-4 years of experience in compliance, diversity & inclusion, procurement or related field
    • Valid Class D drivers license

    Preferred:

    • Procurement Industry or Business Diversity Certification
