    Responsibilities


    The family liaison independently provides family care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation from admission through transfer or discharge.

    The Registered Nurse works with the interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, high quality family/patient care and safety.

    The role is responsible for facilitating smooth and accurate flow of information to patients/family members from the Pre op area, PACU and Operating Room, surgeons, while maintaining confidentiality and privacy for all patients.

    Also serves as a patient/family advocate, using mediator approach whenever possible. Responsible to promote comfort and satisfaction among patients and families.

    Requirements


    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • RN License with the Maryland Board of Nursing
    • BLS CPR certification
    • At least 2 years of current clinical experience in the perioperative setting.
