Overview

The Cook is in charge of preparing menu items using cooking equipment in a fast-paced setting, ensuring high food quality standards for customer satisfaction. The Cook must also pay attention to portion control, food waste, and sanitation in the kitchen.

This position offers an hourly wage of $15.00.

For part-time roles: Benefits include a 401(k) savings plan and matching.

Responsibilities

Prepare and package food items made to order or kept warm until sold.
Follow verbal orders from the front counter staff regarding food requirements for guest orders.
Maintain quality and production standards for all menu items, ensuring freshness and high quality when served.
Control portions and serving temperatures of all products at the concession stand.
Clean, stock, and restock workstations and displays.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment like grills, fryers, and ovens.
Ensure cleanliness of work areas, proper storage of food products, clean utensils, and a swept/mopped floor at the end of the shift. The Cook must undergo a check-out with the Floor Supervisor to confirm cleanliness standards are met.
Uphold sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
Demonstrate excellent attendance as per company standards.

Qualifications

Effective communication with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests in a professional and respectful manner to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Proficiency in English language (speaking, reading, writing).
Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-centric environment.
Possession of a valid food handling certificate if mandated by state and federal regulations.
