Basic Job Functions:
The duties and responsibilities of a Maintenance Engineer include but are not limited to having a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering and project management principles; making data driven decisions, developing experimental test cases, providing technical leadership to all areas; planning and leading projects coordinated with operation and maintenance teams; developing and maintaining our preventative and predictive maintenance programs; working with area maintenance teams to troubleshoot plant issues; driving process improvements; fostering mutually beneficial partnerships when developing scope of work with potential vendors; and creating and maintaining the plant and equipment drawing/document management system.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
4-year Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience
5+ years relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the steel making industry
Ability to obtain a Professional Engineers License
Proficient with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks software
Strong computer skills including proficiency with EAM/ERP software
Develop solutions from concept to implementation
